Goal
The ‘Stichting Vrienden van de ETF’ is a charity that works independently of ETF Leuven, but in close cooperation with the Board of Trustees and the management of ETF Leuven, in order to promote and support the study and research at ETF Leuven. The foundation works to supplement the work of ETF Leuven and is often an important support in realizing various projects.

Strategy/Policy 2025-2029
The foundation contributes to maintaining and expanding the institution by providing resources to support education, academic service and research for the benefit of its own university education. The areas in which this education, research and service take place are mainly theology, religious studies and related disciplines.

Spearheads for the period 2025-2029 are:

  • infrastructure and facilities in the context of necessary renovations on campus
  • improving the quality of blended learning, thereby increasing the appeal of the educational offering
  • the appointment and professionalisation of academic staff for the purposes of education and research
  • strengthening academic services through applied research in connection with science and the professional field
  • scholarships for (international) students who lack the means to obtain a master’s and/or doctoral degree
  • making resources available in both printed and digital form
  • facilitating conferences and study days

Activities performed in 2024
The following projects were financed from the funds received in 2024:

  • Contributions to academic personnel: €133,000
  • Contributions to scholarships: €43,500
  • Contributions to research projects: €23,000
  • Contributions to the Library: €5,000
