Gerson Veldhuizen new Administrative Director of ETF Leuven
LEUVEN, July 3, 2015 – The Evangelische Theologische Faculteit (ETF) in Leuven has appointed Gerson Veldhuizen as our new administrative director. Veldhuizen will succeed Pim Boven, who has been administrative director of our institution since 2003. The appointment of Veldhuizen fits in ETF’s vision for further growth and professionalization.
Gerson Veldhuizen will start working at ETF in August. As administrative director he will be in charge of our facilities, the financial and administrative policies, cooperation with partners and fundraising, among other things. He will also give shape to the newly established ‘Leuven Center for Christian Studies’, a conference center which creates possibilities for the ETF to grow as an important institute for Evangelical-Reformed theology in Europe.
The ETF has gone through severe developments this past decennium. As recent as 2014, the ETF was given a highly positive evaluation from the visitation committee of the Board Flemish Universities and Institutes for Higher Learning (VLUHR). Rector Prof. Dr. Patrick Nullens: “The pressure to maintain this level is high, but at the same time there is still room for growth. Veldhuizen’s business profile and his affinity with Evangelical-Reformed theology make him the ideal candidate to shape the growth of ETF, in combination with our dean Prof. Dr Andreas Beck and myself.”
Drs. Gerson Veldhuizen (31) studied business administration and strategic management at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam and is currently active as a manager at a travel organization in the Netherlands.
