Structure

The academic Master of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies program consists of 120 credits, spread evenly over two years.

The joint component (35 credits) contains courses from the different departments, with special attention being paid to the methodology of research and exegesis.

The three specializations each aim for greater depth in the specific area of work and research (70 credits). Each specialization culminates in a thesis worth 30 credits, including a Thesis Colloquium. Aside from that, you can make use of 15 credits of free electives, which you can use for broadening or further deepening.

The language of instruction on the Master’s course is English. Your thesis may be written in English, Dutch, French or German.
