Bachelor’s Degree

The three-year academic Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies (in Dutch) offers students a firm grounding in Christian thinking about God, Church and society. With attention paid to the relevance for today, source texts for theology are studied together and put in a sound framework.

In the first year, students familiarize themselves with academic study, the theological disciplines (Biblical Studies, Historical Theology, Systematic Theology, Practical Theology) and Religious Studies. They also learn how to study the Bible in the original languages of Greek and Hebrew.

In the second and third years, students choose subjects according to their particular interest within one of the two specializations. At the end of these studies, students are ready to enter the Master’s degree program at ETF Leuven. Students are equipped with the basic knowledge and skills to be deployed in society and the Church.
