[Without Dutch translation] Since September 2009 ETF offers a part-time variant (30 ECTS per year instead of 60) of our accredited Master’s program through distance education called ETF Open University. For whom?If you have a professional degree in theology (e.g., the Dutch degree ‘Godsdienst Pastoraal Werk’) or a university degree in any field, and also want to continue working where you are, then ETF Open University is the right choice for you! Applicants should be self-disciplined, equipped with adequate computer skills, and have a good command of English. What does ETF Open University look like?The ETF Open University consists of the following courses and sessions:
To be admitted to the Master's program, you need to complete a preparatory program (max 60 ECTS) or a linking program (max 45 ECTS) depending on your previous education program. After completion of the preparatory program or the linking program, students will be admitted into the Master’s program (120 ECTS). Master of Theology and Religious StudiesQualified applicants who can immediately enter the Master’s program will be able to begin ETF Open University in September 2010. How is the student evaluated?Coursework will consist mainly of readings, essays and research papers, which students can complete at home. In cases where an oral or written exam is involved, the student may be required to come to Leuven. In consideration of foreign students, this requirement to come on-site will be kept to a minimum: maximum once per semester (end of January, and end of June). Re-examinations may be taken during the Summer Colloquium. How much is the cost?Annual tuition for the ETF Open University program is € 850. The Summer Colloquium requires an additional charge of € 350, which includes room and meals. Estimated expenses for books during the first year is € 400, which includes Logos Bible Software (see www.logos.com). The estimated expense for books in subsequent years is € 250. How do I apply?To be considered as a prospective student at ETF Open University, please send us your completed (online) application form and two reference forms. Upon successful receipt of your forms, we will process your application. An admission interview is required for our final decision.
