Supplemental Programs

If you have originally chosen a specialization in the bachelors' track, but then decide to enter the masters program with a different specialization, ETF requires a short supplemental program of study (depending on previous courses). Incoming students from other institutions with a bachelors or masters diploma, would also follow a supplemental program.

One-Year Missions Program

Students with the prerequisite "Hogeschool studies" (Flanders), HBO (Netherlands) or university studies, may be admitted to a one-year missions program. This course of study is specifically designed as preparation for missionaries as required by such sending organizations as the European Christian Mission, Tear Fund and Interserve.


Half of the courses followed would be in missions related subjects:

  • Introduction to Religious Studies
  • Ministry and Cooperative Development
  • Christianity and Islam
  • Anthropology and Missions
  • Project-Management
  • Missions & Culture
  • History of Missions & Ecumenics.

The other half of the course load would consist of biblical studies with students within the bachelors program. This program is offered in the Dutch language only.
