Vision
We equip leaders to be biblically grounded, well educated, and culturally enriched, bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to our World.
Institution
The Evangelical Theological Faculty (ETF) is located in the Heverlee district of the historic Flemish University City of Leuven (Louvain), just 19 kilometers East of Brussels. The availability of the theological and other libraries alone (over 5 million volumens) makes its location one of the most attractive places for theological study and research.
Both the ETF's state recognition for its degrees and the evangelical persuasion of its scholars serving on the faculty placed the ETF in a unique position on the European continent. Though ETF is primarily European, it welcomes faculty and students from elsewhere for the purpose to strengthen the evangelical churches on the continent and even world wide.
The ETF offers a three year bachelors program in the Dutch language, and an international program consisting of two degrees in the English language: A Master of Theology (Th.M.) and a Doctorate of Theology (Ph.D.). Its model of education remains typically European, and its curriculum follows accordingly. The academic program is primarily, though not exclusively, designed to interact with biblical and theological issues relevant to the European context and to prepare students for various practical ministries.
